Foreigners, Chinese of foreign citizenship and overseas Chinese, who are healthy, interested in studying in China, willing to observe the laws and decrees of Chinese Government and the rules and regulations of the university and respect Chinese customs, may apply to the university for admission.
- 2. To apply for the majors in which LNU uses Chinese as the teaching language of instruction, the Chinese language proficiency requirement should reach at least Level 4 of the Chinese Language Proficiency Scales For Speakers of Other Languages or its equivalent.
- 3. Applicants who would like to take a pre-college class or a class of 4-year undergraduate programs must have a high-school diploma or its equivalent and must be 16 to 25 years old.

A passport-sized photo taken recently of the applicant.

With name, passport number & expiration date, and photo included
*3. Non-criminal record (made by local police station), Chinese translation and Chinese embassy certification
-Please note that this document is valid for only 3 months. For instance, if you submit your -application in April, your non-criminal record must have been issued no earlier than January.
-Obtain a police clearance certificate from the local police station where you currently reside, confirming no criminal record in the past 6 months at the time of application.
-You need to translated it into CHINESE if it is not in Chinese; Then you need to get it notarized by local notary office and then get it certified by local Chinese embassy; If your country has joined the HAGUE convention then just do the Chinese translation and Apostille; Then you may need to mail original copy of non-criminal record and translation & certified(or Apostille) documents to the university in China.

Tips:
For applicants who are in China: If you are an employee, you still need to provide employment separation certificate and your current residence permit. If you are a student, you need to provide transfer certificate, leaving certificate, certificate of attendance rate issued by previous school and your current residence permit. - How to Apply
